Our smart mobile storage solutions are very flexible – even in the standard designs. This means: Mobile Racks at manageable costs for our customers that fit their individual requirements. The questions below are a quick help to find the right Mobile Rack for your needs.

1. How wide are the materials/components that will be placed in the rack?

The length of the support tubes should roughly correspond to the width of the most frequently transported components/material, so that the user can still see the ends of the support tubes when the rack is full. These act as a guide for the user when placing components/material in the rack. Individual support tubes can be extended using extension tubes for the occasional storage/transport of larger material.

Larger material? No problem!

Larger boards/components – preferably placed in the lower storeys – can protrude beyond the end of the support tube by up to around 1/3 of their length. Parts that are deeper than the support tubes, e.g. frames, can be accommodated by using extension tubes (accessories). Please note that the maximum load per support tube is reduced in relation to the amount of protrusion (1/3 protrusion reduces the maximum load by 1/3).

2. How thick are the materials/components that will be placed in the rack? (to calculate spacing)

Recommendation: Thickness of material + ca. 40 mm = compartment spacing
We recommend allowing a space of 40 mm between material in the rack and the next support tube so that material can be loaded into the rack easily and sufficient air can circulate for the material to dry.

3. Do you need to store material of different lengths simultaneously on the one rack?

Do the different components in your consignments have similar lengths or are they completely different?

Customised rack lengths

Mobile Racks with a series B, C or R frame are also available in lengths of 2060 mm, 2335 mm and 2995 mm upon request. Intermediate lengths or racks with a shorter length than 1510 mm can be custom-manufactured in intervals of 55 cm.

Connecting racks together

Our couplings can be used to connect two racks from the same series together. This creates additional rack length when needed and allows racks to be separated again afterwards. The standard connector length is 0.3 m. Custom-length connectors are available up to 1.5 m.

How flexible does your JOWI rack need to be?

As flexible as our standard design? (Really flexible, indeed.) Or are you looking for greater flexibility? Our fixed-frame racks allow you to optimise the position of the i-shaped uprights. Simply reposition them into any of the pre-punched holes spaced 55 mm apart, or insert additional i-shaped uprights.

5. How heavy are the materials/components that will be placed in the rack?

Please note: all load capacity information provided is based on an even distribution of the load with no impact loads.

Spacers increase load capacity:

If only 2 support tubes per storey can be used, e.g. for double-sided varnished components on pins, the maximum load of each storey can be increased using spacers (price available upon request). This option is a particularly good solution for R and Quercus series racks because they have pre-punched holes for the addition of extra support tubes.

To obtain a higher maximum load capacity for longer parts, two Mobile Racks from the same series can be connected together. In this instance, the maximum load of the connected racks equals the sum of the maximum load of each Mobile Rack.
